Upgrading from Windows Server 2022 Standard to Datacenter

Note: This process is only applicable for upgrading from Windows Server Standard to Windows Server Datacenter. Downgrading from WS Datacenter to WS Standard is not possible.

Note: Your documents, installed programs, and other files will remain intact during the upgrade. However, it's advisable to back up your data to prevent loss due to unexpected events like power outages.

Follow these instructions:

In the taskbar's search field, type CMD. When Command Prompt appears, right-click and choose Run as administrator.

Type the command: dism /online /set-edition:serverdatacenter /productkey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX /accepteula. Replace the Xs with your actual product key and press Enter.

Once the activation is complete, restart the server. Your Windows Server 2022 Datacenter will be ready for use.
