Is Your Computer Ready for Windows 11?

Here are the essential specifications your computer needs to support Windows 11.

  • Processor: Minimum of 1 GHz speed with 2 or more cores on a 64-bit compatible processor or System on a Chip (SoC). (For instance, Intel Core processors such as i3, i5, i7 from the eighth generation onwards).
  • RAM: At least 4 gigabytes (GB).
  • Storage: A minimum of 64 GB storage capacity.
  • System firmware: Must be UEFI, with Secure Boot capability.
  • TPM: Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0 required.
  • Graphics card: Must support DirectX 12 or later with WDDM 2.0 driver.
  • Display: Requires high definition (720p) screen, larger than 9 inches diagonally, supporting 8 bits per color channel.
  • Internet connection and Microsoft account: An internet connection and a Microsoft account are mandatory during the initial setup of your PC for Windows 11 Pro and Home editions.

If your computer does not meet these criteria, installing Windows 11 might not be possible. However, the following tools can assist you in verifying compatibility:

  1. PC Health Check: This Microsoft-provided tool can assess your PC's compatibility with Windows 11. Download it for free here, and execute the compatibility check upon opening.
  2. WhyNotWin11: Download this tool from here for free. Running this application will inform you about your PC’s Windows 11 compatibility.
Attention: The WhyNotWin11 tool will display a checklist indicating which Windows 11 requirements are met (green), not met (red), or potentially unmet according to future criteria but currently unmet (amber).
Note: For additional information on compatibility, it is advisable to contact your device's manufacturer directly.
